Boucher Acoustic Guitar Kemper Profile – Studio Sound Without Feedback

This Boucher Acoustic Guitar Kemper Profile is more than an ordinary guitar profile: it transfers the characteristic, warm sound of a Boucher acoustic guitar microphoned in a high-end recording studio directly onto the line-out of your own guitar – played through the L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup.

The Unique Selling Point

Normally, playing live means choosing between two worlds: the natural, full sound of a studio microphone – with all its risks like feedback and unpredictable stage acoustics – or the clean, but often thinner signal of a built-in pickup. With this Kemper Profile, you get both at once: the authentic, studio-captured microphone sound of your Boucher acoustic guitar, played completely feedback-safe through the line-out.

How the Profile Was Created

For this profile, the Boucher acoustic guitar was recorded with a selection of legendary studio microphones known for their exceptional sound:

– AKG C451 (Vintage)
– Shoeps MSTC
– Neumann U89i
– AKG C414 (ULS Vintage)
– T-Bone RB500 (ribbon microphone)
– Sennheiser MKH-40
– Slate ML-1

The included studio profile combines the characteristics of several of these microphones (C414, C451, U89i, Slate ML-1) into a particularly full, balanced sound. The entire signal chain ran through top-tier studio equipment: Focusrite RED 1 (Series 1 and 2) with Lundahl transformers, Calrec channel strips from the legendary "Polar" console, a UA8000 Ultimate Audio desk, and a Slate VMS One.

What Makes My Process Special

There are probably tens of thousands of Impulse Responses on the market that measure and analyze the frequency curve of an acoustic guitar. Most of the time, these IRs are used together with downstream EQs to make an electric guitar sound like an acoustic one. On this topic, I keep getting questions from customers: "Can your profiles make my electric guitar sound like a Taylor, Martin, or Takamine?" The answer is: no. The profiles offered here are custom-tailored to the combination of guitar body, the woods used, and the specific pickup. This constant is then expanded with the character of a microphone and merged into a single profile through an elaborate process.

The decisive advantage: the profile fits the acoustic guitar like a sonic twin and sounds authentic and real. The downside: the profile only fits precisely this combination of guitar and pickup – it can't be used universally for other guitars or pickups. That's also why we offer a curated selection of profiles, since it's simply impossible to analyze and package every model on the market – including some no longer even manufactured. We've made an effort, though, to keep the selection as broad as possible, covering a wide range of popular models.

Für alle, deren Gitarre in keine unserer Beschreibungen passt, bieten wir Custom Profiling In this process, we typically don't use our own microphones, but those of the respective guitar's owner. This gives you an affordable way to get a professional 1:1 profile of your guitar without having to come to the studio. Just check outCustom Profiling" for that, where you'll also find a contact form. Start your professional acoustic sound today.

The Sound

The Boucher acoustic guitar has a very warm, distinctive, and full-bodied fundamental tone – a character that sets it clearly apart from many other acoustic guitars. This exact tone, otherwise only achievable in top studios with precisely positioned microphones, is at your fingertips anytime with this profile – anywhere, whether recording or performing live, and guaranteed feedback-safe. Depending on the microphone used, the tonal fullness shifts slightly, but the instrument's original warmth is always preserved – captured down to the finest detail and playable directly through the L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup.

What You Get

This profile set includes a total of 16 Kemper profiles: 7 dry individual profiles from the microphones listed above, plus 1 studio profile (a blend of several microphones) – each available once completely raw without effects, and a second time fully mixed with effects and ready to play. All profiles work directly with any current Kemper firmware, with no additional setup required.

Perfect for singer-songwriters, fingerstyle guitarists, and anyone who wants to experience a genuine studio-quality acoustic sound live – reliable, reproducible, and ready whenever you are.

Behind the Sound

I've been working professionally in audio since 1991 – as a certified Sound Engineer, advertising sound engineer, recording engineer, live sound technician, and as a composer with gold and platinum awards. This experience from studio, stage, and music production goes into every single profile. Installation couldn't be simpler: load the profiles, select, play. The set works with all Kemper models (Toaster, Rack, Stage, Player), with no known limitations.
